ENVIRONNEMENT DE TRANSCHROMIE CIRCULAIRE, PARIS 2017

DATE: FROM JUNE 2022

VENUE: VENET FOUNDATION, LE MUY, FRANCE

Carlos Cruz-Diez makes his entrance to the park of the Venet Foundation, in the south of France. His Environnement de Transchromie Circulaire (2017) has been presented in the Hors les Murs of the FIAC in 2019, in "Les Extatiques" at La Défense in 2020 and at the Frieze Sculpture Park in London, in 2021.

The Environnement de Transchromie circulaire is a circular, participatory and shimmering structure, in which the spectator is invited to rediscover its natural or urban surroundings. Conceived to be built in situ and in exterior, the piece takes into consideration the environment's reality and transforms it using the color’s subtraction thanks to the transparent strips that mingle.

With this work, Cruz-Diez displays a singular conception of abstraction, initiated when he elaborated his first Projet pour un Environnement de Couleur Soustractive, in 1969.
