GROUP SHOW "LO TIENES QUE VER. LA AUTONOMÍA DEL COLOR EN EL ARTE ABSTRACTO"

DATE: FROM 8 MARCH TO 23 JUNE 2024

VENUE: FUNDACIÓN JUAN MARCH, MADRID, SPAIN

The Fundación Juan March presents Cromosaturación (París, 1965/2009) by Carlos Cruz-Diez as part of the exhibition Lo tienes que ver. La autonomía del color en el arte abstracto.

First conceived in 1965, Chromosaturation is an immersive environment composed of three chambers bathed in monochrome light—blue, red, and green—altering the viewer’s perception and creating a direct physical experience of color, beyond form or representation. This work challenges the way we traditionally see color and engages the visitor in an active exploration of its autonomy.

Bringing together a wide range of artists from the 20th and 21st centuries, Lo tienes que ver examines how color, liberated from representation, became a fundamental artistic language. The exhibition explores its role beyond narrative or graphic elements. Additionally, visitors will discover historical color theories and an immersive space that enhances the visual journey of the exhibition.

"Color is not an addition to form but a situation in itself, an evolving reality that belongs to space and time."
