GROUP SHOW "CYBÈLE"

DATE: FROM 28 JUNE 2024 TO 1 OCTOBER

VENUE: DOMAINE DU VALLON DES GLAUGES, EYGUIÈRES, FRANCE

The Domaine du Vallon des Glauges is hosting the open-air exhibition Cybèle. This 20-hectare wine-growing estate is located in Provence, in the south of France.

Cybèle is an artistic celebration inspired by the goddess of wild nature that will honor the fundamental elements, elevating the interaction between humanity and nature through an immersive journey featuring iconic contemporary artworks.

The exhibition features two works by Cruz-Diez from the Cromovelas series. These works are supports for chromatic events that, depending on the light and the distance from people, reveal the color that appears and disappears, creating a dialogue between the viewer and the work. The color that appears has a virtual existence, but it is as real as the pigments used.

The Cromovelas are inspired by the Solomonic columns, or twisted columns, used in the Baroque period to express the condition of art in motion. Their ascending helical shape means that they present different points of view, which means that there is no single point of view. They can never be viewed in their entirety. The viewer discovers them as they move.
