L'AVENTURE DE LA COULEUR / ENVIRONNEMENT CHROMATIQUE, PARIS 2018
DATE: 24 FEBRUARY 2018 - 22 JULY 2019
VENUE: CENTRE POMPIDOU-METZ, FRANCE
For Centre Pompidou-Metz and the Constellations de Metz festival, Cruz-Diez is taking over Parvis des Droits de l’Homme with Environnement Chromatique which meets and shakes the habits of those familiar with the place, its lines, its forms and its colors.
Passersby become both witnesses and actors in this spectacle which unfolds as they move and which surrounds them on over 500 square meters. They discover their ability to create, with their own sensory perceptions, colors that are not present in the material of the artwork, but that are nonetheless as real as the pigments used in the paint. By offering new visual stimuli, Cruz-Diez offers an aesthetic, poetic and sensory experience in the heart of the city.
Environnement Chromatique is an ever-changing artwork. It dialogs with the architecture, livens up the space and gives it a playful and unprecedented dimension that reveals, above all, the vital experience of color.
For Cruz-Diez, color is a language. A language that we all share.
